Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique blend that combines soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has performed on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta but her origins are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to grow as a musician by playing and singing at church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You A House 12 was only released in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay of her live performances. The singer has also provided her voices in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was commissioned as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine earned national fame through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She got invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
