Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over 20 years. Buss is the founder and president of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native, and was raised by a well-off family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon and later owner of Lakers, among other businesses. Their relationship ended in 1972 and she began to feel like she was left behind. Her family's business was started when she was 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. She served as the head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice president for the Lakers. Buss took over her share of the Lakers by her dad in the year 2013. The five siblings she had took over the franchise through an trust. Buss assumed the role of president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles which is an organization that encourages professional wrestling.
